The houses to be constructed in Fre will be stone in a Cretan traditional style in accordance with high specification materials and construction. The houses are bungalows with a flat roof and have been designed in two types, with one and with two bedrooms so that you can choose the one which suits your needs.
Houses with one bedroom
The stone houses with the one bedroom have a surface area of 58, 73 sqm (including the walls) and comprise of one united area, kitchen and living room, one big bathroom and one big bedroom. In the living room a traditional iron wood burning stove is foreseen. Externally they will have a veranda in front of the bedrooms and one outside the living room. The living room veranda will be covered with wooden pergolas which will be held by stone columns.
Houses with two bedrooms
The stone houses with the two bedrooms have a surface area of 82, 80 sqm (including the walls) and comprise of one big united area, kitchen and living room which includes a stone fireplace. The living room is separated from the kitchen with a traditional stone arch. They have a very big bathroom and two spacious bedrooms. Externally they have two verandas outside of the living room covered with wooden pergolas like the smaller houses and there is also an open veranda outside of each bedroom.
General
All houses will be built from local stone from the area so that they are in harmony with the environment. The stones on all the external walls of the house and in two internal walls of the living room will be visible. On the remainder internal walls of the living room they will be plastered and painted white with ecological color, friendly to the human organism. Also they will have wooden doors and windows from pine wood with double glazing for thermal insbration and sound proof ness, strong insulation from expanded polyester 3 cm thick on the roof. Insulation of the house will be complimented by the 50 cm thick stone walls. All ceilings will be constructed in a traditional style with tree trunks and boards. The floors will be tiled internally with ceramic tiles while the verandas will be tiled with irregular stone from the local area. Generally all material that will be used for the construction of the house will be chosen based on their resistance and environmental friendliness based on their properties so that they will be fully hygienic and pleasant to the people who will settle inside.
Plot
The plot which is foreseen for the construction of the houses is located on the east side of the village Fre and have a beautiful view of green scenery from all directions, while from the south there is a view of the imposing White Mountains. The total area of the plot is 1740 sqm and it has been separated into 4 smaller plots which range in size from 340- 440 sqm. Parametrically around all the plots, stone walls will be built for the formation of the surrounding area. All plots have beautiful olive trees and extra building allowance so that if you wish you can expand your house in the future. Entrance to the four plots will be through a common road 4 meters in width and will connect with the public road.
