The house is in the village of Pemonia and it dates back to 1839. Its original owners were a Cretan family. Local stonemasons, using local stone, built it almost 170 years ago. It has many examples of local architectural features, such as arched doorways etc. The renovation works are now completed and the house offers 2 bedrooms with wooden floors (Swedish pine wood), a good size bathroom with a corner bath, a WC, a spacious kitchen-dining area, a fireplace, and a basement storage area. Aluminium double glazed windows with mosquito nets. Wooden ceilings on both floors with planks from Swedish pine wood and tree trunks from local cypress wood complete the tasteful renovation which remains true to the original architecture of the house. The property has an upstairs veranda that offers also some partial sea views and a front large split level patio with views over the surrounding countryside, mountains and the village of Pemonia. An age old oak tree offers shade in the front of the house The house has its own parking area. |
