The village of Armenoi is situated in a lush green landscape, surrounded by enormous plane-trees The village and the surrounding area have many natural springs providing irrigation for most of the district. The village took its name from the first inhabitants, the Armenians(961 A.D.), who served in Nikiforos Fokas army liberating the island from the Arabs.
